The Wines

2022 Plinth Vinturist Cabernet Sauvignon

Crafted from sites on Pritchard Hill, Oakville, and Saint Helena, we consider this wine a showcase of the “art of the blend” on behalf of our team and Philippe Melka.

Composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4.5% Cabernet Franc, and 0.5% Petit Verdot, this red blend is aged for 22 months on 70% new french oak, allowing it to mature into a plush and nuanced ambrosia.

The nose reveals elegant aromas of ripe plum, sweet red cherry, and rosemary, all beautifully integrated in a harmonious and captivating bouquet. The mouthfeel is smooth, seductive and extremely balanced. Lingering notes of licorice and soft, ripe tannins create a delightful and lasting finish.

The 2022 Houyi showcases a captivating bouquet with notes of cocoa, rosemary, coriander, blackberry, dark cherry, and fennel. On the palate, it delivers an exhilarating experience with ideal weight, a velvety texture, and profound structure. Bursting with flavors of black and blueberries, baking spices and crushed rocks, this wine exhibits impeccable tannin quality and vibrant energy, indicating significant potential for aging.

The Story

Plinth Wine is on a mission to bring the most delightful elements of the Napa Valley to wine lovers far and wide.

Our journey began with founder Flora Chang crafting wines amidst the splendor of Pritchard Hill in 2011. Flora’s profound connection to the land and wines led her to launch Plinth alongside her esteemed winemaker and mentor, Philippe Melka, after her inaugural wine company was acquired by Realm Cellars in 2022.

For Flora, Plinth represents the continuation of a love letter to the Napa Valley that began years ago—a new chapter of adventure, where wines are meticulously curated from renowned regions such as Pritchard Hill, Oakville, Coombsville, and other revered vineyard sites throughout the valley.

Our wine portfolio now boasts a Pritchard Hill Cabernet, Napa Valley Blends, and our cherished Sauvignon Blanc.
