Our North Star. Our Plinth. We craft this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Houyi Vineyard on Pritchard Hill.
The 2022 Houyi showcases a captivating bouquet with notes of cocoa, rosemary, coriander, blackberry, dark cherry, and fennel. On the palate, it delivers an exhilarating experience with ideal weight, a velvety texture, and profound structure. Bursting with flavors of black and blueberries, baking spices and crushed rocks, this wine exhibits impeccable tannin quality and vibrant energy, indicating significant potential for aging.
2022 Plinth Vinturist
Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon and crafted from sites on Pritchard Hill, Oakville, and Saint Helena, we consider this wine a showcase of the “art of the blend” on behalf of our team and Philippe Melka.
The nose reveals elegant aromas of ripe plum, sweet red cherry, and rosemary, all beautifully integrated in a harmonious and captivating bouquet. The mouthfeel is smooth, seductive and extremely balanced. Lingering notes of licorice and soft, ripe tannins create a delightful and lasting finish.
